Hotel Villa de Betanzos

This is a modest yet very pleasant place to stay — just a 6-minute walk from the city square and close to all the restaurants, bars, and the charming old city. It’s also only about a 10-minute walk to rejoin the Camino path. The sweet couple at the reception were very helpful in spite of the language barrier (I don’t speak Spanish and they didn’t speak English). The room was comfortable, clean, and ideal for a simple, restful stay. Highly recommended!

We really didn’t like this place. It is vastly over priced - we paid €114 for a triple for one night vs priced in other towns more like €80. We thought it would be a treat. The room is very very tired- black out blinds ( the windows strangely go around the whole room including where the bed is) didn’t open fully and had holes in etc. At breakfast we were charged extra because we had some butter with our croissants. There are definitely better places to stay than here.

I had a comfortable stay and the Hotel is nice & clean throughout. The shower was fine. The bed was comfy and it was quiet so I slept well. Its true the Hotel is beginning to show its age. Service is good including for breakfast. The breakfast is a bit poor in choice the coffee was good.
