Roddaren

The reception is in the basement to the right in the dining room (right entrance) which was a bit tricky to locate. The rooms weren't great, the ceiling lamp didn't work, one of the wall outlets didn't either and a very small tv. But they had a small fridge in the room which was nice. Shared showers but toilets in each room. They had space in the basement for preparing food but we didn't use it so dont have an opinion. Location is pretty good, short walk to the harbour.

Affordable and pleasant. Quite centrally located, about 15 minute walk from the train/bus station, about 10 minute walk to the ferries to the Koster Islands. Very short walk to Systembolaget and Coop and many restaurants nearby. The kitchen has everything you need and each room gets a locker in the kitchen for food, it can get busy and full quickly in the morning. The showers are shared, separate for men and women. We went on a quiet weekend so we got a free upgrade to a better room. Staff is nice. It was nothing fancy but perfect for us!

I guess "you get what you pay for" applies here. You cant really expect hotel quality service here. But staff was friendly and location is OK. Walking distance to down town Strömstad.
