Gasthof Post

Five of us Lechweg hikers stayed here one night and we truly enjoyed our stay, including breakfast and dinner. The older gentleman (the owner?) was charming and accommodating. He even made sure we headed in the right direction for our hike in the morning. The food was excellent and the rooms were clean. The hotel and traffic became quiet after dinner. Stanzach is a small village and Gasthof Post is probably the only food option. Even the grocery store is only open 6am to noon, and there is a dispensing machine for coffee around the corner. With this in mind, you will truly appreciate the efforts of a small staff and what they can offer. If you ask nicely, even with the language difference, and are patient and understanding, as you would be staying with friends or family, then you will truly enjoy Gasthof Post. You may even be charmed by the church bells at 6am: time to wake to prepare for the hike!

Not welcoming at all. The waitress was rude. We ate there in the evening. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Iwe have waited an hour for a salad of a very poor quality. Breakfast buffet was very very basic. We do no recommend.

Amazing food but we had to wait almost an hour to get it :/
