Casa Brutarului

With Via Transilvanica passing in front of the gates, Casa Brutarului is an accommodation option which has to be considered. It is a nice guest house (a family owned business) with a few rooms and a small restaurant where breakfast and dinner can be served. Rooms are large and clean, with minimalist furniture and equipment offering a decent level of comfort. The owners are very kind people, ready to fulfill the requirements of their guests. Breakfast (available as an option) and dinner are very generous and consistent, based mainly on local products (most of the coming from their own farm). Overall is good value for money. The owners are also running a bakery - producing excellent bread. As far as concerns some older reviews I read about this location, I have to say that during our stay we had no problem with noises (the bakery activity ends pretty late in the evenings of working days and can be heard, but not too intense), neither with insects (there is a certain amount of insects which is normal for a house in a village located in an unspoiled natural environment).

Very disappointed. We arrived early and they were able to board us in one of their rooms, however the room felt like a refrigerator. We asked when the heat would be turned on, but their furnace broke down and the radiators never heated to a comfortable temperature and the sink and shower water never got hot. This was especially disappointing since the place highlights the jacuzzi tubs/showers which were useless without hot water. The hosts were very friendly but it didn’t make up for a very cold room at night and no hot water in the bathroom. Also, we didn’t receive towels until several hours after checking in.
