Wheal Rodney Holiday Park

The week before we arrived at Wheal Rodney, the weather forecast predicted incessant rain and the remnants of a hurricane, and to make matters worse, our train was cancelled an hour before we were due to travel.. That was where our bad luck ended though; a quick phone call to the holiday park, and we were able to rearrange our arrival time and let ourselves into the lodge. The staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish, making our stay comfortable and relaxed. The lodge was clean, functional and well-maintained, the heated indoor pool was a lovely diversion on the occasional days it did rain and the shop had all the basics needed. The park itself is somewhat off the beaten track but definitely not remote; a 20-minute walk into Marazion or about 4 hours by car.. those familiar with the traffic 'system' in the town will know what I mean! The park was quiet at night, there was WiFI and a pretty decent chippy that cooks everything fresh down in Marazion.. be warned though, they close at 8pm if you were hoping for a late-night fish supper. Overall, I would highly recommend this little park for some R&R to recharge the batteries, take in some glorious views of St. Michael's Mount and the bay that wraps around Penzance and beyond. Oh, and if you're *really* lucky, you might bump into 'Simba' - the Bengal/Burmese park cat who has something of a fascination with watching people in the pool.. he's very handsome, and he knows it. Thank you to Allie and everyone at Wheal Rodney for a much needed break, and for fixing our initial spell of bad luck.

We have just returned from staying here for 2 weeks. We stayed on an electric pitch right next to reception. We absolutely loved the site, the staff were very friendly and chatted to everyone, nothing was too much trouble. The services ( washing machines, toilets and showers ) were kept spotless regardless of the time of day, the pool was fantastic and very warm and clean, the small shop at reception sold all of the basics you could need, very peaceful site and great value for money. We will be booking 2 weeks next year for sure.

Friendly staff, quiet camping with a warm pool. Very clean. I recommend Wheal Rodney Holiday park.
