Stunning spot to pitch a tent for the night while trekking the TMB! Especially the view of Mont Blanc when the sunset hits the snow-covered massif. A few tips for fellow hikers: 1. This is a strict bivouac setup. You can only pitch your tent after sunset, and everything must be packed up and cleared away by sunrise. 2. First-come, first-served: You can’t reserve a spot here, so it’s worth arriving at the lake area a bit early to scout a flat patch of ground, even if you can’t set up yet. 3. You can buy bottled water and other beverages directly from the La Flégère refuge. Or bring a water filter and take from the lake. 4. Leave No Trace: There are no trash services at the bivouac site, so pls carry all your waste back down to the valley. 5. Weather Check: Bivouacking is strictly forbidden if the weather is bad, so have a backup plan. If you have clear skies, don't miss the Alpenglow (reddish glow on the peaks) across the valley. It's amazing. safe trails!
