We had a lovely stay at Trethias during a spell of magnificent September sun. The campsite has mostly very flat grassy pitches and excellent, modern toilet/shower blocks. The site is right next to the SW Coast Path and many pitches have views out to sea. It is only 5 minutes walk from Treyarnon YHA where very reasonably priced meals can be bought. This site was significantly cheaper than most other local sites, many of which are further from the coast, has an easy online booking system and the owner dropped round for a friendly chat which was a nice touch. Highly recommended.

Camping perspective: It's a really great location - a very easy walk to a lovely beach. Good access to other local beaches an nearby towns. The access roads are narrow for anyone unaccustomed to Cornish lanes. In the "sea view" field there is a large area in the middle of the field where the kids can play. There are very few facilities, with too few toilets and showers. Externally, it's a well maintained site (in keeping with caravan parks). For a site of this size, there was not enough capacity for washing up. The toilets were not cleaned often enough - I don't think the urinal was cleaned at all during our stay and as such, the whole men's block often smelled terrible. The showers were not cleaned enough - we frequently had to shower in dirty shower cubicles (with poor water flow and fixed shower heads) meaning we had to stand close to a really grubby wall. For the price of the site, I expect far better facilities. We are seasoned campers, and have stayed at far cleaner "back to basics" sites. Really, our only expectations were for great location (which this has), and clean and adequate facilities (which this site lacks).

A well placed site with generously arranged camp places around the edge of fields only. The facilities were clean and fresh and the site is a short walk from lovely beaches. The coast path is accessible in a couple of places, so with a dog field as well it is a great place to camp with dogs. Reception is a long walk from the pitches so worth dropping in on the way past in the car if you need ice blocks frozen or basic provisions. We’ll certainly return!
