Guest House Le Charlot

Right near the water. The staff were very helpful when I called having an issue with some luggage. Excellent customer service. So close to the train and a ton of shops.

No lift - impossible for travellers with suitcases. No parking nearby and huge fines multiple times a day. Max 3 hour limit at the square - thereafter get ready for CHF100 fine each ticket which comes once every few hours. Overall a very expensive place to stay if driving. Much better to stay elsewhere, rooms are bare minimum, no shampoo / bath soap.

Really bad experience. The riviera card was not prepared in advance as promised. There was a smelly cheese from a previous guest still in the fridge so we did not use it, I don’t think the room was cleaned well before we arrived. There was no shower gel or shampoo in the room. When we raised the issues with the hotel « Julien », he just blamed the cleaner, he did not apologise to us or make any attempt to correct this issue - rude! The guesthouse was also noisy and the shutters were very difficult to close. In the end we really felt like « charlots » without a shower - I would avoid this guesthouse.
