Hotel la Rocca

It is located on the opposite side of town of the St. Francis Basilica, but it is only a short walk from the C bus station. The bedroom is spacious and clean. We even had a small terrace. The bathrooms, however, are small. The service was excellent. The restaurant had high quality meals. Just a lovely spot.

Out of all the places we stayed, this was the one we were most disappointed with. Bed was representative of the hotel's name. Staff was least welcoming and we had the most diffulty in communication at meals.

This review is for their restaurant. We had an incredible meal here. We don’t frequent hotel restaurants but we liked the menu and heard good things about it. Unfortunately, we were not able to sit out on their magnificent terrace as it was too cold and windy. The inside is very nice though. Vera served us and she is a wonderful and friendly lady. She made us feel like family. And the food is absolutely excellent. Their minestrone is one of the best we have had as is their Carbonara and their pasta with fantastic lemon and bacon. Absolutely divine. Wine list is very good as is their prices. We highly recommend it.
