Bridport Arms

A very friendly family-run hotel with beautiful, well-equipped rooms, an excellent bar and great breakfasts. The dog-friendly rooms include a bed, blanket, bowls and even some food for the dog! Definitely the most dog friendly place we've stayed in.

Had the pleasure of drinking and eating here over the last few days and have to say the place is exceptional. Such welcoming and friendly staff, brilliantly presented and tasty food which could not be faulted. A real find on a wind swept rainy long weekend in January. Would certainly return. Thank you for your hospitality.

We were staying close by and decided to come over here for an evening meal earlier in October. Having booked a table for three by phone, when we turned up at the agreed time we were warmly welcomed and offered a nice, easy to access table in the window alcove. Perfect. A quiet, shy gentleman took our drinks order once we'd recovered from the price list. I live in Germany where you can almost get a crate of Pils beer for a pint here! Oh well. Anyway, I went for the Palmers IPA and my father splashed out on the Palmers Gold. As for the meal, I had the starter of Padron peppers - none of them were hot & spicy unlike what you'd get with Pimientos de Padron in Galicia. For my main course I had the mussels in a delicious white wine & creamy sauce. Delicious. Service throughout was courteous. We declined the desserts and left having paid just under 100 quid including an 18% tip. All in all, this was a lovely, evening. Clearly, as an Englishman living abroad, I need to acquaint myself better with eat out prices nowadays...
