Clunebeg Lodge Guest House

If I could give no stars I would've ! Booked last minute as a wee stop over, we arrived after travelling down the very bumpy unmade road ... past a few derelict buildings and abandoned vehicles. The access from the car park to the "lodge" was up a steep slippery grass bank - not ideal in any condition. The outside the "lodges" (no I'm going to call them sheds as thats what they are !) was in a very poor state of repair. Our shed was one room with a double bed, one single bed and a double bunk bed ... not the 2 room shed we'd booked on booking.com ! The bed was as soggy / soft as a limp lettuce, there was only basic tes making facilities .. a Kettle and a couple of cups, oh and a toaster. There was also a fridge and a plugin heater. Nowhere to sit down other than on the beds. The shower bathroom looked clean but dark as there was no window in there. The bathroom door looked like it had been kicked in a few times. Then the alarm bells started to ring safety wise ! ... not literally though as there were non ! Even though we paid for this we didn't feel safe here so after only 15mins we left - first time we have ever walked out of a place. Would I recommend ? NOPE NEVER This is BASIC ... very basic ! I honestly wouldn't even leave my dogs here. Faulty Towers looks like a 5* hotel comapred to this place, I seriously doubt any of the 5* reviews are real especially when you read the lower 1* reviews which now all look very real.

I stayed for 8 nights at clunebeg lodge and had a amazing time we stayed in the cabins very clean and tidy staff where great very helpful at all time . Kitchen in the the lodge was always clean and tidy by the staff I will definitely be back next year loved the stay there even got to watch the Highland games in the village drumnadrochit his one of the best places to stay and would recommend clunebeg lodge if your planing a holiday there

It was just what we expected, we will be back one day. Kids friendly and lots to see. Lots of parking around and very welcoming staff. It's not a 5* hotel, but I am happily giving it 4*.
