Albergue Inturjoven Algeciras-Tarifa

Going from Algeciras towards Tarifa, it is just after El Pelayo. A great place, clean rooms and bathroom, very friendly and helpful staff at reception, not a huge variety of food to choose from for breakfast, but more than enough. Stunning views of the North of Africa, Ceuta and Gibraltar. Swimming pool and tennis courts, plus the beautiful mountains right behind the hostal make this place somewhere to visit! Great for walking, hiking, cycling and driving. Will deffinitly be coming back. (They offer a membership card which is valid in all of the inturjoven hostals across Spain and internationally as well.)

The hostel is in a magnificent location, surrounded by nature. On the downside, you need a car for everything. On the plus side, access is fantastic (the road is excellent, and the hostel entrance is right on the side of the road), and the views of the drive to Tarifa from the hostel are spectacular. There are two buildings, one for common areas and the other for bedrooms. Both are incredibly peaceful. The dining room is spacious and comfortable and has a lovely terrace with great views. The room is fine; it's small but has a private bathroom and a small balcony (very positive points). It also has air conditioning. We were very comfortable. The sheets were left on the bed for guests to make, which is normal for a hostel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; they were all very pleasant and always willing to assist. The lady in charge of breakfast, in particular, was very attentive and helpful (we stayed from August 12th to 15th, 2025). I should mention that the pool wasn't open, although it wasn't really needed. The value for money is, in my opinion, unbeatable. The Tarifa area is expensive, so the hostel price is very competitive, especially since breakfast is included. I definitely recommend the Inturjoven Algeciras-Tarifa hostel to all nature lovers who want to explore the magnificent Tarifa area and its surroundings. We'll be back.
