Ostello Ponte de’ Medici

Not sure about the bad reviews on here. Having experienced a number of hostels, this one is perfect for a stop over on the Via Francigena. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of essential facilities. The shower and toilets are clean and the man who welcomed us was on time to the minute (can’t check in till 3pm) and very welcoming. It is a Pilgrim hostel so don’t expect a 5* hotel but everything is functional and comfortable. The only negative I can think of is that the washing machine didn’t work during our stay. Great service, I would reccomend to anyone passing through Ponti Cappiano.

Same bad experience as other reviewers. Booked 72 hrs in advance and when we showed up they told us they were full and offered to drive us 4km ahead on the Via Francigena to Fucecchio where they put us in a room which was decent but the subdivided house was quite the opposite. The washroom on the upper floor was dirty and the smell on the corridor was disgusting. The other units were very noisy. Not a pilgrims hostel. Do not book here.

It’s clean, in a cool building, and close to a square with bars for breakfast lunch and dinner. A very good stop on the Via Francegina
