Aqua Natura Bay

We came Jan during off season. Chill. Stunning views. Amazing breakfast. Freshly made pancakes from the gentleman at the counter. Super nice and friendly staff. We had some poor experience at the previous town and this place just blew our minds. For sure recommend staying here Vs other smaller towns near by. Seems in Madeira for a better experience we should visit popular tourist places, where the facilities are better and the service more professional. We went for a small place last night and we paid about the same as this place and the service and the food was far worse. ANB for sure did not disappoint and everything was professional and on point. The decor was fresh and updated, the breakfast had items that is premade but also had a fresh hot food stand manned so you can get some fresh hot items like eggs and pancakes. So that is good since we detest old/premade baked goods. They also gave us a room with great sea views. My only recommendation for the hotel owners is that if you have off seasons, maybe do some more deals for digital nomads like us. We often stay a month or 2 away from home so your hotel would be great even without breakfast etc. Oh actually I have to correct myself. Their breakfast had the best fruit as well. I don't know who they have such amazing fruits in Madeira. In other places, the fruits are all horrible and blend in winter. We came in January yet their breakfast buffet fruits are so sweet. I keep checking to see if they added sugar, they did not. It is to die for. No I won't come without their breakfast. They also have the friendliest staff. The ladies at breakfast is always impeccable with their service so attentive and the chiefs always keeping an eye on the pancakes and fresh hot items. They don't make a mountain and waste them which I totally approve. They make it smaller batches fresh depending on what people are taking, just the right way of doing this. We have a small b&b ourselves as part of our income profolio and yeah we know great hospitality when we see it and here they really shine!!! Ps free tickets to the rock pools at their reception!

Very nice hotel, we had a great time here. The location is really good, breakfast buffet was delicious tho could have been a bit more diverse. Super friendly and helpful stuff. Hygiene/ cleaning could be better. Beds are extremely comfortable. SPA is quite small tho. Overall, a very decent choice.

The bathroom is small, the view from the room is very crowded with the road and the marina in front of the hotel. From the reception, none of these things are visible, so opening the curtains in the room feels like a disappointment. In the spa area, we saw some cockroaches, which is disgusting. The Turkish sauna doesn't work very well. We asked the reception to turn it on, as we were advised during the check-in, and they did. However, once inside the Turkish sauna, it releases steam once and then doesn't do it again. If it's supposed to only release steam when a button is pressed, then the machine should be inside the sauna with us, and not available just to the employees. If not, something is wrong. The breakfast staff rushes you. As it gets closer to the end of breakfast, they start removing things, and it doesn't feel great. If the breakfast is meant to end at 10:30, it should end at 10:30, not at 10:20 or 10:15. The wind is very noisy at night. The dinner in the restaurant isn't bad, but for the price of the food, the portions should be larger. As for staff, mostly they were great. However, we had some issues with the blonde receptionist. We found that she was not as nice as her colleagues, who were very helpful. She sighed when we asked for something instead of helping. It feels bad to pay to be treated this way. The hotel seemed very empty, so maybe everyone else already knows of the issues and is smartly avoiding this hotel. Two stars instead of one, for the ladies at dinner!
