Glendalough International Hostel

Great stay! I traveled here by bike — they don’t have dedicated bike storage, but they kindly let me keep my bike in the game room, which I really appreciated. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the location is fantastic. The hiking trails start right down the road, which made it perfect for exploring. The room was good overall. The only downside was the shower — it took quite a while for the water to warm up, but once it did, it was fine. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed here in the family room for 2 nights with our 3 kids. Staff were so friendly, room was spacious, warm and it had a kettle, cups, tea and coffee with milk. The kitchen is so well equipped, it had a cooker, gas hobs, fridges, freezer, microwaves and everything that you could possible need to cook anything you want to cook big or small, the dining room area was big and spacious with a microwave, toaster etc. There are fridges for you to use to store your food and drinks etc and the hostel is so well kept, really reasonably priced and there is breakfast onsite for a small fee which is perfect. We loved our stay. It’s surrounded by the beautiful mountains and fabulous scenery and is just a few mins walk from all the hiking/walking trails with plenty of maps and information available in the hostel. We will absolutely be back to stay again. Definitely recommend staying here. So well ran and so well kept, so clean, bright, friendly and chilled. Loved it and the kids did too.

Spent a night here with my family and really enjoyed it. The hostel is in a stunning location, within walking distance of the lakes and the monastic ruins. The staff were warm and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the shared kitchen was handy for a quick meal. It is simple but cosy, great value, and perfect if you want to enjoy the beauty of Glendalough.
