Petrovy Kameny is definitely one of the best hotels you can visit during your trip to the highest Moravian mountain, even if you do not stay overnight. The hotel has a huge restaurant, so you will always find a place to get a warm beverage or a full lunch. It is located on the main road to the summit, which should definitely be your goal during your visit to this part of the Jeseníky Mountains. The staff is always kind and the prices are reasonable compared to other chalets.

The hotel is a classic, fairly large property that often feels quite busy. The location is excellent – easy to reach and with beautiful views. We stayed in a Deluxe room with a balcony. On the positive side, the room had a proper hot shower, a coffee machine, a lovely view from the balcony, quality pillows and bedlinen. The mattress did have noticeable springs, but it was still comfortable to sleep on. The heating worked perfectly. The room is furnished in a minimalist style with some rather unexpected (poor) design choices. While the coffee machine is a nice touch, it was a pity that only two capsules were provided for the entire stay. On the downside, the room was not cleaned during our two-day stay. Another major issue was the soundproofing – if the neighbours play music in the morning or have a party in the evening, you will definitely hear it, perhaps also because the surroundings are otherwise very quiet. Breakfast at the hotel was very good – not overly varied, but the ingredients were fresh and of high quality, with tasty bread and decent coffee. And now the negatives: the price. For two nights we paid CZK 5,600 (€228), which feels far too much. Parking at the hotel must be booked in advance even in summer, and costs CZK 600 (€24.5) per day – acceptable, but the surcharge for a dog is CZK 750 (€30.6) per night, which is excessive. As mentioned, cleaning is not carried out daily. What makes it worse is that this is advertised as a “pet-friendly” hotel: you pay a hefty surcharge for your dog, but you cannot take it with you to breakfast. That means you have to leave the dog in the room, where it starts howling and disturbing everyone else – and with such poor soundproofing, that is a real problem. In addition, right outside the hotel there was an unpleasant smell from the drains, which may be seasonal and only in summer. Overall, we felt that the price simply does not match the level of service offered. If you want mountains and comfort, we would recommend Austria instead – it’s cheaper, the standards are higher, and the dog surcharge is only €5–15. A practical note: if you arrive by car, access up the mountain is controlled – cars go up once an hour on the hour, and down once an hour at half past.

Travelled as a couple on 18th to 19th of June 2025. The hotel definitely has had better days. The bathrooms were newly done and super clean. The bed was uncomfortable. The staff were really not super friendly and the restaurant in the hotel.... was kind of a disappointment. Using the wellness area cost extra. Overall, I really wouldn't recommend staying here. Instead you could stay at one of the towns below the mountain and hike up for the view.
