I stayed at Loch Ness Backpackers Lodge for 3 day’s and honestly it was one of the nicest hostels I’ve ever been to. The people there are super friendly and make you feel at home right away, almost like you’re staying with friends. The place itself is really cozy, with a nice lounge and log fire, and the little bar has some local beers and whiskies which makes it easy to meet other travelers. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and there is a nice kitchen. The location is perfect too, just a short walk to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. If you’re backpacking in Scotland, this is definitely the kind of place where you’ll want to stay a bit longer than planned.

The Lodge is a really cozy hostel buzzing with people from all around Europe as far as I understood it. The room was clean and nicely decorated, the communal bath was well cleaned. The Lodge has a larger Bar and rest area with a large assortment of local beers and whiskies. It has a well maintained communal kitchen with everything you need for a quick meal. A cozy salon type room with leather sofas invites to stay and read. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. My wife and I had a very fun time sitting at the bar talking to staff and the owner. I‘d recommend the Backpackers Lodge for a stay as a nice and budget friendly place in the Loch Ness area.

Staff: 5/5 Kitchen: 5/5 Room:2/5 Bathroom: 4/5 Location:4.5/5 The staff is very friendly and gave us a tour around the whole facility. There is good atmosphere in the common area and rules to keep quiet during sleeping hours (guessjng those rules pretty much set up to resolve what others complaint before). Love the decorations they set up for the whole hostel including outdoor and inside (even toilet). Room is more of the concern. We have booked a family room of 5 and the bedding was pretty old and yellow, strongly suggesting the hostel changing them. We didn't feel very nice and some of us feel itchy after laying down for a while. We got a few bite on us after the night we stayed but not entirely sure if we got them from here. Socket is not obvious (we only found two, one for a lamp and one is empty; there might be more but we just couldnt find) so recommend backpackers to bring a extension lead (we have it with us). Kitchen and public bathroom are both nice and clean. Shower places in the main building are limited, only having two spaces and could not use after 11pm (to keep quiet for others). We didnt need to fight for a space so no problem with i but it would be better for the hostel if there is shower gel and shampoo (something like all in one) are provided. The staff did hand us a used shower gel when we asked for one. No towel is provided but you can rent one from them, it is common in hostel for not having these items but there is also hostel providing so it would be nice. A few parking spots are available on site. I really wanna say big thank you to the team because the staff is really helpful and kind, and I would definitely recommend here but maybe bring own bedding (?). There are places nearby to visit and some are in walking distance. The small town is pretty lovely too.
