Camping Val d'Or

Located in the mountains so unless you have a vehicle it's hard to get to. The site is well equipped and staff super helpful. The camping pitch was good but the gravel path is so noisy at night also the nearby train track. Also gets really cold at night due to location. No bad overall.

Beautiful camping in Luxembourg's heart. The campsite is a good mix of chalets, campervans, tents and stylized huts like safari tents, barrel lodges etc. giving it a eclectic feel. It has a lovely creek running through the middle of it, which offers a wonderful respite from hot days. Plenty of trees and shrubs offer shade a privacy. The grounds are well kept. We rented a cottage and despite it obviously being old and dated, it was spotlessly clean. Even the outside area (covered porch) was completely free of cobwebs etc. Not easy to do being so closely surrounded by nature! The management offers some mealdeals which are good value for money. Be prepared to strictly adhere to the check-in, opening and closing times of the office, also for ordering your food, because there is little to no flexibility for out-of-hours service. Our only gripe would be that our chalet didnt have a parasol. We stayed during a mini heatwave in September, and despite the chalet having a covered porch, as the sun moves over its axis, there was little to no shade to be found between noon and 4 o'clock, and a parasol would have been very welcomed to be able to lay out on the lounge chairs to read a book or snooze during this time, rather than having to move down to the creek to lay on the grass.

Nice camping, lots of different accommodations, there is something for everyone. Fair prices. In proximity of Clervaux, Wiltz and other sightseeing locations. The camping is run by a very nice dutch couple, always available and eager to help. They make the impossible possible. Snacks were good. Great delivery service of bread, lots of choice and fair priced!
