APLEND Hotel Kukučka

We were in Lomnica our second time but this time we said we’ll book something close to the slopes so went choose Hotel Kukucka. The place is spotless clean, communication with the from booking, checkin, through the stay was perfect (and in English). They helped us with everything we need, lifts are close (5mins walk), parking and breakfast included. Breakfast was also good, they don’t have fried eggs but do have a decent variety of quality food. We had a comfortable three night stay. Our unit was cozy, very clean and quiet with a great balcony and view. Kitchen equipped with the essentials. The train station, supermarket and restaurants all within walking distance as well as the hiking trails and ski lifts (5-10 minutes). Our only complaint was that the bathroom lighting was not good. The cause appeared to be a lighting fixture above the sink. Possible burned out bulb. We did ask for it to be fixed but that did not happen during our stay. Breakfast buffet was good. Very crowded the first morning (Saturday) but the remaining mornings did not have to wait for a table. We had a free session in the Wellness Center. That was great. It would be good to have use of washing machine. Maybe other units had one. Otherwise we were told a laundromat was in the next town over. Overall, we would stay at this property again if back in the area.

Spend here a few days in an apartment in the B building with a living room, kitchen corner, a sleeping room, and a balcony. The room was spatious, well equipped, including the kitchen equipment, and two TV sets. The room was quiet. I slept on a folding bed, which was not perfect but reasonably comfortable. It took us some time to make TV set working since the channels were not tuned and no manual was available. Likewise, preparing the folding bed took us some effort since it was not that obvious and no instructions were provided (and judging according to how some of the tubes inside the bed were already bended, I guess we were not the only ones :)). Finally, later in the evening, the parking at our building was full and we had to look for parking on the entrance road. The breakfasts were quite expensive in my mind given that they were not bad but also not exceptional. In the end, we preferred to prepare our own breakfasts since there was the kitchen corner in the room. Overall, however, I liked the stay.
