Stayed the night in room 1 with lovely views across the sea and slipway. The room was clean, comfortable and warm, though a little dated. Service was excellent with friendly, attentive staff. We had a delicious evening meal with generous portions and sat by a cosy open fire. Breakfast was also a hearty full English. Can not fault the stunning location, even the weather was perfect.

We had a lovely lunch here last week for my mother-in-laws birthday. It was great to visit in low season & have a walk around the village before heading inside, warming up round the fire & enjoying the sea views. Fish & Chips was a very tasty way to end our little day trip, staff were happy & friendly and food was delicious. Plus it’s dog friendly so instead of 5 stars we’ll give it five paws 🐾 🐾🐾🐾🐾 Thank you for a lovely time

Never again........we have been into The Bay Hotel several times a year for over 20 years, we will not return....... On New Years Eve four of us sat on a table in Wainwright's bar about 5.30pm, it was cold in there but we had a few drinks and enjoyed our evening as a family. At 10.20pm the barman came over to my partner and told me that we had to vacate the table by 10.30pm, so within 10 minutes.......as someone had just reserved our table. We couldn't believe that we had been sat there for about 5 hours and were now being told to leave within 10 minutes for someone else who had been drinking elsewhere, but now wanted our table On contacting the Bay Hotel their explanation was that they were guests and due to this could reserve a table. I totally understand the reserving concept, but 10 minutes is not reserving, it was a case of kicking us off our table for them, totally unacceptable!!!
