Rating food and pub. Class pub, absolutely class. Lovely building, lots of history on view with the structure. Lovely ales on the hand pull - solid regulars and some nice guests when we were there. We booked in for dinner but had a couple in the bar first. Food was great - really solid pub fayre. I had the steak and mushroom pie and chips, and my wife had the lasagna and garlic bread. Both delicious. Also, everyone we met working there was dead friendly. Overall, a pleasure to visit. Good food, good beers, friendly staff, and a lovely location. (The beer garden in summer is worth another visit.)

Lovely old fashioned pub. Warm fires and log burners. Dog friendly. Great beer though a bit more pricey as it's in the middle of the Lake District. Nothing better than sitting outside admiring the tree, on a spring, summer or autumn day after a walk. Winter prob better inside. Rooms are ok for an old building. The breakfast is amazing, but if you're staying a few days, by the third day you'll only want a small one.

Lovely traditional Inn in beautiful Elterwater. Popped in for drinks after a walk and returned for an evening meal. Beer perfectly kept and a good selection of local brews. Food lovely with a simple locally-sourced menu. Staff superb, friendly and efficient. Booking advised for evening meals as it popular!
