Cinque Terre Holidays

This "hostel" is more a collection of apartments the owner puts beds in. I received a stay right above the main street of Riomaggiore. Cash only. The owner has strict check in/check out but he was very kind to us. He let us see the property before paying. The layout of the beds was a little strange (1 bunk, 3 singles) otherwise I couldn't ask for a better stay. The cleaner came twice during my stay promptly after each person left. Not sure if other apartments are worse, but mine was great.

A fabulous world heritage site. Beautiful cute little villages, clinging to the cliffs. Expensive all day on off train, just like the London tube but makes life very easy. You can hike from village to village but as time was short we did use the train.

I’m gonna actually call hostelworld and tell them to take this place off their site. DO NOT STAY HERE! So I got to Riomaggiore and went to the address to check in. The guy there cussed me out when i didn’t want to pay in cash, and then he takes me up all these stairs to this creepy house in the middle of nowhere that looks like it hasn’t been significantly maintained since Mussolini was in power. Room was dilapidated and filled with bugs, no wifi, no plug outlet near most of the beds, no lockers, windows were broken so there was just broken glass there, none of the doors locked, so any psycho could've just come right in, and the place was downright gross. I did not sleep at all and i got out of there at 5am. This place is not only bad but a danger to your health and safety. Stay literally anywhere else.
