The one hostel that I didn't want to leave, honestly! The moment I checked in I felt like becoming a part of the community. The hostel is one of those with a unique charisma. It lives in the historic building, it radiates from the easy-going, friendly and helpful staff, chatty guests. The feel-home vibes all over the place. I'm already looking forward to staying here again. The kitchen is tiny but to say that I 'didn't like it' would be an overstatement. I'm simply mentioning it as a noteworthy detail to set the expectations right. Perfectly fine to prepare your dinner, just don't expect to be doing any big cooking show - mainly because other people would like to cook, too. :)

Lions Hostel in Tarifa is pure vibe. Perfect mix of chill and social, great energy, cool people, clean, and the location couldn’t be better. But the real MVP is Dani. The guy is unreal. Welcoming, always smiling, and somehow everywhere at once making sure everyone’s having a good time. See you soon!

I have been traveling for 2+ years straight. Stayed in hundreds of places, this was by far THE WORST experience. And I stayed in some sketchy places in morocco. Not only was it freezing with bad wifi, I paid an additional 25€ for my dog and every time the manager saw me (Manuel) he would tremble and shake with anger. "We have to clean the blankets now" he wanted more money. It really shocked me, because you should clean the blankets every time someone leaves. And my short hair dog is very clean so...not to mention he had a puppy making much more noise than my dog ever did. I was so upset at them asking me to pay more money, because sadly I am so broke, so Manuel said "what's going on in your life" as an american escaping fascism i began to explain why I have no home.. he then cuts me off and says "everyone has problems in life" so insensitive, so rude, so emotional. He was so angry I was broke because he thought I should pay more than 25 euros to clean a blanket...then when I was leaving they basically kicked me out and I had to stand in the rain for 20 minutes waiting for my ride. I have never felt such a horrible, mean, disrespectful vibe from anyone. Let alone someone in the hospitality industry. Don't say you are a pet friendly place when clearly you are not. And if you dont want people struggling with money in your place dont have the cheapest hostel in town.
