Carlisle Station Hotel | Sure Collection by Best Western

Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Situation very central which was fantastic. Rooms were clean and tidy perhaps need upgrading slightly but to be honest we were quite happy with our stay. Breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of food. I would definitely recommend for a short break.

Booked through work for a business trip and overall not a bad experience but could be better. Firstly.. all the staff I encountered were friendly, in particular the lady on reception on check in day (27th Jan) and the young man Dan who was working the bar. The hotel was very well look after in regards cleanliness, everywhere was spotlessly clean and welcoming. The room had everything needed for a comfortable stay, even charging points near the bed (old USB style) as lack of sockets in the room. The downside to the room (111) is that itbis directly opposite Carlisle train station and the windows are single paned, so can hear the announcements etc when trying to sleep. Other no so great points, heater didn't work (however there was a plug in one provided in the wardrobe which helped) so room was freezing when I checked in, the bathroom although very clean could do with a refurb, the bath/shower in particular has seen better days, and the water temperature of the shower is very intermittent with the main temperature being tepid to cold with occasional bursts of hot even though temperature dial on full. Breakfast was good with a help yourself set up and options to order poached eggs or vegetarian sausages from fresh

The staff are brilliant could not fault them the location OK but this is something that cannot be changed The room very thread bare furniture is well. Past it sell by date there was staining on the walls off spills the windows were not able to be opened the room was absolutely red hot The bath room broken tiles the taps would not stop dripping not one all 4 the shower wall had been bodged and the biggest thing for myself and wife the black mould in the bathroom I had reported this but was informed that all rooms had similar problems this was quite concerning as I do have a bad chest
