Casa rural Lugar Del Rio

This was an exceptionally good discovery … a beautifully restored country house in a quiet location and it was so peaceful …breakfast was just what we wanted and hosts were so friendly. Spotlessly clean and it is a “We must return again” venue! Both my wife and I agreed this was the nicest place we stayed in during our recent Spain and Portugal driving holiday .. A stunning and amazing place to stay, explore the beautiful coastline and rejuvenate. A true gem which we recommend 120%. The old farm house is beautifully restorated offering large and modernized rooms that fit the old Spanish farm house style. Equipped with orthopedic mattresses we had the most wonderful sleep with only bird chirping waking us up in the morning. All breakfast ingredients were very tasteful and home made, which was a wonderful touch. If you stay in the area, you have to stay here!

Country house offering bed and delicious abundant breakfast. The rooms are big, beds are comfortable. Some rooms have desks. The place is super clean. There is an equiped kitchen available for the guests and wonderful spacious common places on the first floor. The hosts - Auri and Santi are incredible and make you feel right at home. They are always there if you need them. The place is wonderful to disconnect and immerse in nature. There is a big garden and a lot of outdoor seating areas. There is place to park the car. We went with the idea to work online remotely, and the internet worked fine for us for video calls and screen-sharing. Given the remoteness of the place, this was great. The breakfast is a special highlight - in has its own dining space. Includes toast with tomato or jam, fruits, yogurt, homemade cakes, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, cold cuts and cheese. And every morning there is some variation to surprise you. The place is pet-friendly - we saw a couple with their tiny dog, but they were in a separate lot and not in the main house. There was a couple with their baby as well. Few things to know and manage expectations - there are 5 km of narrow road to reach the house from the coast. In 20 min you can drive from the house to the coastal towns to find restaurants and supermarkets. The rooms are in a house with wooden floor and it is common to hear steps or noises from the neighbouring room, but so are built most country houses and it is to be expected, this did not bother us at all and we stayed for 6 nights. You can hear the church bell several times a day. All in all it is like going to your own house in the country side that is perfectly maintained and you get premium service. We did not want to leave at the end.
