Palace Hotel Fontebella Assisi

Fontabella isn't a four star hotel. Three, at best. Cons: * Small double bedroom with tiny cupboard * Exceptionally small bathroom. * No controllable aircon or heating * No irons or ironing boards available for any guests. (Bizarre.) * Rooms over the main street are very noisy * We were overcharged for our room, and had push for a refund. Pros: * Great location * Lovely valley views from some rooms * Open to a late checkout at no cost

Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were always extremely helpful and courteous. The view of the valley was amazing and the location was central to churches and close to the town square. The buffet breakfast had a good selection.

I stayed for two nights, and it was a wonderful stay. The hotel is situated in the heart of Assisi. All the main attractions are in walking distance. I reserved via booking.com and I had the option of making my payment at the property. The room was clean and comfortable, with a picturesque view from the window. The staff was very friendly and helpful at the check-in and also at the checkout time. The manager was very kind enough to call a taxi for me. The breakfast was great and pleasant. Highly recommended for everyone who is visiting Assisi.
