Disappointed with the experience — some of the host’s claims were not accurate On the day of check-in, we contacted the property around noon to ask whether it was necessary to arrive before 9:00 PM. Rob replied that they would not be available after 9 PM and provided us with a code. However, when we arrived at 10:00 PM, we couldn’t locate the key box and had to call Rob for help. The call was made out of necessity — not to inconvenience anyone. The next morning, we arrived at the dining room at 8:57 AM, fully aware that breakfast was served until 9:00 AM. The lady at the property personally asked how many breakfasts we needed, and I clearly responded, “two.” This shows we were present and ready to eat well before the cut-off time. However, no one came to take our actual order until after 9:00 AM. We were unfamiliar with the expected process and waited to be served, as would be normal in many guesthouses. To suggest that we “only ordered after 9:00 AM” implies we were late, which is not accurate. The delay in order-taking was on the staff’s side, not ours. We finished breakfast and left around 9:37–9:40 AM. We did not store any luggage with the property. As for the room, it was smaller and more dated than expected, with noise from nearby traffic and late-night pedestrians. The toilet was a bit unstable, and the drainage system made very loud sounds during use. These are details I feel other travelers should be aware of. What was most disappointing was the tone and content of the host’s public response, which included sarcasm (“Maybe go book in the Ritz next time”) and claims that misrepresented what actually happened. I believe feedback should be received professionally and honestly — especially when guests share it respectfully. This review is based on my personal experience, and I hope it helps others make a more informed decision.

I stay at Carnson House annually. The hosts are welcoming, extremely caring and have become valued friends - THANK YOU. They will go out of their way to help and support you if needed. The breakfast is superb and fresh. Nothing is just lined up on plates. They have set meals but will always be flexible with requirements. Breakfast time is 7.30-9.00 but on a day I needed earlier, it was bo problem. Rooms are cleaned and made up beautifully whilst you are at breakfast. I expect to stay at the front of the building might be traffic noisy in the week but I've had no problems. Its in easy walk of the bus, train and harbour car park and also the Scillonian boat. I heartily recommend this absolute gem of a bed and breakfast Superb superb superb

We stayed two nights, a family of 3. We had a warm greeting from the owners on arrival. Our room was lovely, spacious and very clean. Tea and coffee provided in our room and a tv in each room. Spacious bathroom facilities as unsuited. The breakfast is cooked from fresh, delicious and big. They accommodate to how you like your breakfast and provide a small breakfast for children. Owners very cheerful and warm. I would certainly recommend Carnson House to friends and family. Plus your right in the middle of town. Good location. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We shall certainly return.
