Hostal Vegadeo

The manager was very nice, but the room was really basic. We shared one bathroom with five other people, though everything was clean. Nevertheless, we didn’t feel very comfortable there, and for what was offered, it was extremely overpriced. There was no hairdryer, no surface to put things on (except for a tiny bedside table), no air conditioning, and the view from the window was quite unpleasant. Since there was no aircon and it was hot, we had to keep the window open just to be able to breathe, which led to a lot of mosquitoes getting in. We paid almost €90 – definitely not worth the price.

Cancelled my booking reservation on account of my card being invalid, which is simply untrue. I even provided details of another card, but they claimed it was also invalid. Then they dont pick up when you ring them, had to find another accommodation at the last minute. Do not recommend. Although, if you manage to actually get in, it might be ok.

The rooms and bathrooms are super clean, noiseless, and the treatment of the owners fantastic. No doubt, if I return to Gijon I will repeat. A very cozy guesthouse, a very nice and beautiful hostess (her name is Gloria) and everything very clean.
