Pensión Barakaldo Rooms

The room was very basic, and not cheap. If you go in winter, you'll be cold; it's freezing, and they don't turn on the heating until 9 pm, meaning you're cold all day. It's still cold at night, and the heating isn't on when you go to sleep either. In the morning, they turn it on briefly, but it doesn't heat the room at all, even though there's a thermostat—it's useless. And the bathroom is like a refrigerator.

Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy the room because I made a mistake by one day in the booking. Since it was non-refundable, it said that I couldn't change the date or cancel. I understand that much, but to make a mistake by one day, call them immediately after making the booking, and then have them refuse to change the date from the 6th to the 7th, instead of the 7th to the 8th, tells me they don't care about the customer and only want the money. Just to change one day—I checked for availability, and there was—and refuse to change the room, well, two rooms we had wasted, €162. Let them enjoy it!

It was well located and quite clean. We had room number 7, the one with a double bed. The bathroom was adapted for people with reduced mobility, so if you come with a wheelchair, you can move around the room perfectly. It was very spacious, and the views overlooked the street. It cost €99 per night, booked with little advance notice. There's no one to help at reception, and the common area is a bit shabby.
