Hotel Restaurant Alpina

The hotel itself is lovely and well placed in Vals center. breakfast is well curated and all locally sourced. The room itself is simple clean and well designed. Unfortunately there is substantial major construction which started outside our window every morning around 7am which made it impossible to sleep in or rest during the daytime. I would consider returning but only after the construction period is complete. I do wish they offered a considerable construction discount on rooms places up against the construction as it’s really not a pleasant experience to be in the room at all once its starts. I had requested a quiet room and we got one instead exactly against the construction site.

Restaurant : Warm welcome, friendly service. Delicious capuns. Tasty spinach tagliatelle, though slightly overcooked. Tender, flavorful pork with pizokels.

My experience at Alpina Hotel was extremely disappointing, even though I didn’t end up staying. Upon arrival, I was unexpectedly informed that the price of my room had been increased from what I had originally booked online. When I asked for clarification, the staff chose to threaten me with calling the police rather than provide an explanation. This is unacceptable behavior and reflects poorly on the hotel's customer service. I had been transferred to Alpina Hotel after another hotel failed to deliver the room I originally booked, but things only got worse here. The lack of professionalism and intimidation tactics used by the staff made it impossible for me to stay, and I had no choice but to leave. To make matters worse, I later discovered that many other reviews from past guests had similar experiences with pricing issues and poor treatment, indicating a pattern of dishonesty and mismanagement. This kind of behavior is simply not acceptable in the hospitality industry. I strongly advise others to avoid this hotel. There are many better options where guests are treated with respect and pricing is transparent.
