Hôtel Vignemale

Great hotel with amazing views from the rooms and the terrace to the cirque. Family owned hotel and it feels how they run it. Not a commercial approach but a very friendly and family atmosphere. Rooms are clean. Breakfast was really good with lot of options.

If you think of a mountain hotel, this is the hotel you think of. Upon arrival in Gavarnie it already caught my eye and after a 4 day hike we were looking for a place to stay for the night to recover. We were put off by the low ratings… but after reading some bad reviews decided to goo, because most was about the parking. The staff is very welcoming and the view is just… magnificent. Yes the rooms are a bit out dated, but everything is clean and in very good order. We had a perfect night and woke up and had breakfast with just a beautiful view of the Circe de Gavarnie. If you are in the neighborhood just give it a try. (Ps I understand that most bad reviews have to do with people not visiting the hotel having to pay for parking)

We spent a night in this hotel after hiking over the pass from Spain. The hotel is perfectly sited, with a dramatic view of the cirque from the veranda and the rooms. The woman who was running the hotel was incredibly friendly and helpful and we had a very pleasant chat with her. We highly recommend this hotel if you are going to spend a night in Gavarnie.
