Camping du Barrage, Rosport

Nice place which we had all to ourselves in January. Riverside location with plenty of good dog walks and cross the bridge and you're in Germany. Sanitary blocks are very modern only downside was the workmen on site were using them with their muddy boots when they had their own portaloo outside.

I spent one night here with a tent while hiking the GR5. I didn't make a reservation and the tent area was already quite full but that was not a problem. The campsite was very full so tents were really close to each other and obviously it was busy and noisy until late in the night. Bathroom facilities are clean but a bit limited (only 3 showers for men). I could not find a place to safely charge my phone, which is very useful when you're trekking. However, I think I saw a box for that at the moment when I was leaving. It would have been nice if the staff had told me.

The place is gorgeous and really calm, perfect to rewind and relax. The staff is pretty judgmental though and treats certain people disrespectfully. For example we’re younger than most here 19&20 so they treated us poorly. Giving us a poor service and an arrogant attitude. In the restaurant we wanted to eat and they assigned us to a drinking table while it was clearly empty. The pool staff is rude and mean towards younger people. I am not obese but I do have a few extra kilograms so as we loaned a kayak the guy there made pretty mean comments about my size for the life jacket. He even did a pretty on the edge joke about “You don’t have to be 18 to be an adult” with a disgusting behavior. In the restaurant we asked to pay and the guy just dismissed us by saying we should head inside to pay while he clearly went to every table personally to make them pay for their food and drinks. (We got our cocktails alcohol free even as we ordered them with alcohol. They’ll judge based on what they think) This place is perfect if you want some calm and quiet but really bad if you hope for a friendly and fair service.
