Great location, the cable car is nearby but of course you can hike to and from Zermatt to get there. Great views over a glacier. No shower. Outside toilet with washing facilities. Water in tap not safe for drinking unless you use purifying tablets. I was surprised to see no boiled or hot water for tea provided in a mountain shelter - you could purchase some though. Rooms with bunk beds offer no privacy and little storage so keep that in mind. Overall the shelter felt a bit neglected. Breakfast basic and served rather early - at 6:30AM. Dinner substantial. Indoor crocs provided.

Absolutely outstanding! I hiked her to hug for two weeks, and this is one of my very favorites. Lovely, dark old wood construction inside and out, very snug, but still room to stretch. Terrific food. Amazing scenery – I recommend the glacier panorama room, if you get there early, you can grab the bed by the window! Felix and his team do a terrific job of making every guest welcome. Highly recommended, whether you’re off to climb something or just want a great mountain hike and rest!

We were a group a 3 and had a very nice experience during our stay. We stayed for a night, having dinner and breakfast at the hut. The food was really nice, almost as good at the views. The hut was very cozy, we went at the end of june and the summer season hadn't started yet, so the atmosphere was relaxing and chill. Being at +3000m has its difficulties, so don't expect to have all the facilities you would found in Zermatt. Toilets and a sink can be found outside the hut. Despite the fact, everything was clean and tidy. Definitely, a very special and unique place to stay. If you are lucky with the weather, it is worthy to see the sunset/sunrise.
