(No) thanks to Calmac, we found ourselves “stranded” in Castlebay en route to Lochboisdale in the January snow. The manager and staff at the Craigard Hotel were absolutely brilliant, even opening up specially to cook us breakfast. Without them we would have been completely lost! Other reviews have mentioned the wonderful hospitality and kindness - it’s true! A great place to stay

Wow!!! What an amazing Hotel! Clean, tidy, well looked after, well presented and very, very welcoming. Cannot recommend the steak pie enough. What a meal!!! Absolutely stunning dish, even the pastry top was well seasoned, well presented and super tasty! Steak pieces (loads!!!) were juicy and tender, proper melt in the mouth. The staff were also extraordinary. Super friendly, very chilled and very easy to talk to, in particular Miyah and Mhairi. Credit to the hotel for amazing staff! Will wholeheartedly return for both business and holiday! Thank you for an amazing visit!!!

A lovely stay over at a small, friendly hotel.. Lovely ambience and very friendly welcome. This hotel matches the friendly spirit of the Hebridean Island community.. Definitely recommended for a stay on Castlebay
