Guest House Bashkimi

I think we were last guest in this season 😊 but very very welcome!! Family who run this guesthouse is unbelievable kind, helpful and with smile on face. You can feel like at home. The place is so far from everything but we didn't miss anything. We had big supper with delicious food and at the morning very tasty breakfast with local food. For sure you won't be hungry in this place!!! And also we received some sweets and drinks for way back. We also had possibility to take away food from breakfast - I think it's brilliant, especially when you go to hiking. Area is like from fairy tail ❤️

Our stay at Guesthouse Bashkimi in Doberdol was simply wonderful! The family is incredibly kind and welcoming – truly some of the nicest people we met on the Peaks of the Balkans. We were pleasantly surprised to find hot showers, very good Wi-Fi, and even the option to wash our clothes with hot water, which was such a treat after a long day of hiking. The food was absolutely delicious and generously served – we never left the table hungry! We filtered the drinking water just to be safe, but others drank it directly without issues (in Oktober). Our room for four was right above the warm fireplace lounge, so we had a cozy and comfortable night’s sleep. The common area by the fire was also a great place to meet other hikers and share stories. Highly recommended — one of the most memorable and genuine stays on the trail!

Seeing how many reviews there were, I was worried it would be crowded or would be a mass tourism/business driven stay. Nothing could be further from the truth. As soon as we arrived, Bashkimi made us coffee and throughout the night, continued to provide tea and Raki, free of charge. He was kind, considerate, and the son/family have taken great pains to make it such a warm and kind atmosphere. This is all the more important as most people get sick in this town on their peaks hike and without pointing fingers, I can tell you it's not from Bashkimi!
