Hotel Maiensee

The Maiensee has continued to invest in their property. Rooms have been beautifully redesigned, better mattresses, comfortable sheets and duvets. Breakfasts remain excellent - the relatively new burger bar for lunch excellent (some of the tastiest beef/chicken burgers you will find anywhere) and dinners much improved since we first game 20 years ago. But the reason most people come back is the friendly atmosphere engendered by the family who run the Maiensee, led by the current generation Stephan and Andrea. With its location right next to the ski lift in St. Christoph, there is no better place to stay in the Arlberg (and we tried quite a few before we settled on the Arlberg!)

Would like to say we had a nice stay, however family holiday now in jeopardy and out of pocket significantly as hotel just cancelled New Year room booking saying they were overbooked!!!! Clearly booking 6 months in advance (paying in full 2 months ago) still doesn’t guarantee your room. Left stressed and devastated with potentially no holiday for family of 5 at a really busy time in the ski season. Beware if you were hoping for a stress free break. You may not get the chance if you try and book this hotel!

We’ve stayed at this hotel twice and absolutely loved it. It’s a very nice, family-run hotel with spacious and elegant rooms. The food is sincerely and thoughtfully prepared at every meal, and the staff are incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. Truly family-friendly — we’ll definitely be back.
