Owners very welcoming! Competitive pricing and a wide array of rooms with different luxuries and prices! Mostly aimed at low budget tourists though. Perfect for when you are hiking and the weather turns for the worst or a affordable stay in St. Blasien. New owners recently. They are currently renovating.

Most importantly, the hosts were genuinely friendly and took great strides to satisfy their guests. For example, when I asked for a chess set, which they didn't have, they took the effort to find a full set of pieces and a carton to create our own makeshift board. Snobs might consider themselves too good for such a thing, but actual human beings will recognize the awesomeness of such a gesture. As for the hotel itself, it is perfect for hikers or people who are happy with basic necessities: the ability to dry your clothes, to wash yourself, to sleep in a comfortable bed, to go to the toilet, etc. My friends thought the breakfast was great as well. One minor inconvenience that some people might have is that the showers run lukewarm; but I didn't mind because frequent and excessive hot water showering is not good for the skin anyway, and I usually take ice-cold showers. Visiting HC Kurgarten feels more like a stay with friends and family rather than a hotel. The showers might be too cold for some, but the place and people are heart-warming. Thank you.

We had a very nice time in hotel,rooms are very comfort and have great view. St.Blasien is beatiful town and people are very friendly. Me and my family will come again.
