Balmaha Lodges

Don’t book this place at any cost. We had booked this place for a weekend away. There was no one at reception when we arrived at 4.10pm which is the middle of check in time. No one had emailed to say that we had to check the lodge for our keys which is a major miscommunication on Balmaha Lodge. We had to go across to the Oak Tree Inn and they said that this had happened beforehand which is ridiculous. We had then got into the Chaffinch modd pod in which the heating was unbearable set at 31 degrees and could not be turned down at all. The heating was making me and my partner uncomfortably warm. The hot tub did not turn on at all and did not heat up in the time that we were there. No one was there to help with any issues that occurred in the 4 hours that we were in the modd pod for. I had emailed and messaged on Instagram for a response to help us with our stay but unfortunately no one responded at any point so we had to leave as it was so uncomfortable. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

My friend booked two separate cabins ,we arrived just after 3pm to check in.there were multiple other guests waiting to check in and followed the instructions on the door ,by calling the number to get further details. Some guests were told they had been moved to other lodges ,but they wouldn’t have a hot tub despite paying for one . We had difficulty speaking with some one on the phone and they started texting us to say they had us booked for the night before and that we had made a mistake , we had proof of our bookings /communication on booking.com , she then said that half the management team have left the buisness that dealt with the booking and she was unsure at this point if there is any other available cabins until everyone has arrived but then ignored us after this .she also stated she can’t answer the phone as she is unwell. We were left stranded, hundreds of pounds of pocket and a far distance to now travel to find alternative accommodation. There was no apology or accountability taken and infact we were then ignored and hours down the line we still haven’t had a response to us asking for our refund , we have now contacted booking.com for a full refund .multiple other guests had problems with no one site or contactable to fix them . We would advise at all costs!

This place is truly magical, located 2min walk to boats, n shop restaurant, both reasonably priced. We brought a lot with us to keep cost down. As u have everything u need to cook a meal in cabin, they were also lovely inside was spotless ,nice tall radiators if your out in hot tub we used to put heating for coming bk into , staff couldn't help us enough nothing was a bother liked my wee morning chats with them, so yes just a brilliant place to be n see with. Lots of things to do. Thanks Balmaha cabins n loadges, we will be bk 😀
