My husband and I stayed here on a road trip around southern Italy. We wanted to see Rudolph Valentino‘s hometown. There is a very nice museum with lots of personal items and history of Rudolph‘s family life in Castellaneta. Japp‘ca Japp‘ca is very close to the museum. The apartment is very comfortable with nice bathroom facilities and a very comfortable bed. The hostess, Marie, is extremely well organized and accommodating. Her husband was also very accommodating in helping us find parking. If you stay here you should let them know if you are arriving by car. They will be able to help you in advance to find parking. Driving in the old city center is not recommended. You can not drive right up to the apartment as with most any place in the old town. However, it is worth the experience to stay here. Castellaneta is a beautiful town with lovely churches, great restaurants, beautiful views, and nice people. This place is a real gem and I highly recommend staying here. Also Marie left us some wonderful pastries and fruit. Such a nice place!

Maria and Francesco gave us a wonderful welcome. Maria, as far as the "welcoming" part is concerned, was very kind, helpful, and very nice. She prepared an EXCELLENT breakfast with typical local products, the apartment was impeccable. Francesco, as the "Cicerone" part, enchanted us with his explanations. Thank you and keep it up. Arriving on foot from Mottola, along the Via Ellenica, we couldn't have found a better welcome. Thank you for your care, attention, and even to detail. The setting was delightful; Maria welcomed us with the warmth we deserved; Francesco shared the history of these places with infectious passion; and the grand finale was a tasting of typical products in a friendly atmosphere that was unforgettable.
