I was filled with joy when I arrived at this albergue, but as soon as I reached the entrance, the manager at the reception stopped me from taking photos. Pros: The location is right under the Ponte dos Santos bridge, offering a stunning view. From the rooftop space of the albergue, you can enjoy the river scenery. There’s a kitchen where you can cook, with a microwave for heating food, along with a few plates and cups. The place is well-maintained and very clean. For example, right after I took a shower, the manager promptly came in to mop and dry the area. Cons: While cooking is allowed, there are no pots, so you’ll need to bring your own, like a titanium pot. The manager also prohibited 🚫 indoor photography. When I explained that this was my fourth Camino pilgrimage and it was my first time encountering such a rule, I asked her to show me the policy, but of course, she couldn’t provide any justification. Before 5 PM, she came into our room, turned off the main light, and told us to use the bedside lamps instead because someone in the neighboring room was sleeping 😪. My husband reasoned with her, pointing out that it wasn’t quiet hours yet, so why couldn’t we use the main light? She reluctantly turned it back on before leaving. At around 5 PM, she came into the room and asked us to lower our voices, simply because someone in the neighboring room was sleeping. Normally, we don’t speak very loudly, but she herself speaks loudly without concern. I just want to express that the manager should treat all pilgrims fairly. That aside, this place is very friendly to individuals with disabilities, with accessible facilities in the rooms and common areas. In summary, I’d rate the facilities 90/100 but the human touch 10/100. At least she allowed us to stay. Finally, a reminder: do not 🙅🏻♀️ take photos in front of her, or she’ll keep appearing like a shadow wherever you go!

Great little albergue. 2 rooms, 6 and 5 beds. 2 shower, toilet rooms. Kitchen (need your own gear), dining area. Lovely spot. Super clean. Kept my bike in the room.

The experience wasn't very positive unfortunately. The albergue itself is ok, just one shower/toilet for woman and one for man, but clean. Beds are OK with single use sheets. 12 places. 8€. The kitchen has a fridge a microwave and stoves however no ustensils or anything to cook. What was very unpleasant was the behaviour of the hospitalera with Spanish pilgrims. A pilgrim arrived after us and booked the beds she wanted for her 3 other friends (that were not even here yet) before we could even say anything and the hospitalera accepted and told us (even though we arrived before the others) only 2 top beds were available, so we agreed because we didn't understand it was booked by the other pilgrim as we don't speak very good Spanish. This is unfortunately against the rule of pilgrims, precisely written in the albergue. Then they all spend the afternoon talking extremely loud until 10.15pm where some of us were trying to sleep... They acted like they were just themselves in the albergue without respect (the hospitalera included).
