Just come back from a 3 night stay with breakfast and evening meal and it was lovely. The hotel bar and reception were cosy with an open fire and comfortable seating. The bedroom was a little dated but perfectly adequate. My only concern was the shower was over the bath so I would have struggled with mobility issues. However the room was clean and everything worked well with plenty of hot water. The beds were comfortable and the heating was easy to control. We had a tv with plenty of channels although we didn’t use it as the bar was so comfortable to sit in. On top of everything else, I have to mention the food. I have never eaten better food in a hotel, it was exceptional. We were with a large party and everyone agreed. There was a choice of 3 or 4 starters, mains and desserts and between us we had everything on the menu. It was like fine dining but substantial and hot. We all agreed to return next year if only to enjoy the food again.

I'm just back from an overnight stay at The Winnock and while it was a decent stay, there was certainly parts that weren't. I really wanted to enjoy my stay more but feel I need to be honest. Rooms were spotless but dated. Very basic. I don't know if I was just unlucky but the person next door was so loud and just not considerate of other guests in hotel, Food was lovely as was the bar staff and very helpful. I feel some reception staff could've been better because it wasn't explained to me what happens at breakfast and where I go etc until I asked, most hotels you know this on arrival. I do wish my review was better because I'd really looked forward to staying here, drymen is lovely but I wouldn't stay here again

Oh my God! What a marvellous hotel. Lovely location, very popular with coach parties staying over. Lovely reception area with open fire, good sized bar. Attentive reception. Fantastic staff. Breakfast not so great with very overdone poached eggs - under done toast, disappointing, but a very small criticism for a lovely hotel. Big banquetting area so its ideal for weddings etc. Didnt have an evening meal here so cant comment on dinner. Standard rooms are nice, compact. Cleaners need to look up sometimes and remove cob webs but apart from that no complaints. If you are hoping for a quiet sleep, you wont get one, being an old building rooms not sound proof. People speaking loudly down corridors waking me at 0730 didnt make me happy. Hot beverages and kettle provided in room. But, I'd return without a doubt. Really enjoyed my stay.
