The Crofthouse

Nice, clean, comfortable and roomy house. Well equipped. Big record/cd/book collection. Working guitars and a slightly out of tune piano! House is in a lovely area, lots of nice scenery. Very peaceful! Close to a working fishing harbour where we bought some freshly caught prawns from local fisherman. Also did some kayaking around the inlets there. Excellent base to explore Harris and Lewis. Beautiful beaches and hills for walking. Recommended.

We spent a week at the Crofthouse last Sept and having holidayed in the Western Isles for many years and found the Crofthouse to be one of the best cottages we have stayed in . It was clean , warm , comfortable, well equipped but most of all felt like a home ! Traditional with lots of character . I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage as a base for a holiday on Harris. Thanks you Jonny . Andrew , Rachel , Ed and Tattie!

Stayed here for a fantastic week in Nov 2019. The Crofthouse is one of the most characterful places I've stayed in. Lovingly restored and the decor is inspired. The white timber floors and walls with furnishings in hues that hint at the Hebridean landscape almost take you back in time. Spotlessly clean and brilliantly fitted out with everything you need and more... not to mention a superb selection of books, CDs, stereo system, guitars and a piano. You can see the Stockinish harbour from the garden. Loved it. Highly recommended.
