We stayed at the Villa Cortijo Maria Dolores in October travelling from the UK, and we had the most wonderful time. For us it was the perfect holiday restful and very peaceful in the most beautiful of settings. The villa is beautiful, rustic, very clean and well equipped, very private with the fantastic wrapround veranda and amazing pool offering wonderful views over the valley. Frigiliana is 5 mins away in the car and is a beautiful little town with quirky streets, shops, restaurants, bars and fantastic panoramas (although car parking can be a challenge). Definitely one of our favorite places to holiday.

Currently sat on the veranda of cortijo Maria Dolores having been here just under a week. The villa itself is rustic but very comfortable with room to sleep 4 in a double located on the first floor and two singles in the second bedroom on the ground floor. The villa has mod cons such as microwave, dishwasher, dolce gusto coffee machine as well as WiFi, which was a nice surprise, as well as cooker, washing machine and a large fridge freezer. The only thing the villa could do with is air con as it does get really warm and, although there is a fan in each bedroom, I am finding it difficult to sleep with the heat. The pool is fantastic, much bigger than we expected with three sunbeds and two parasols around the pool. A word of warning, we've had some windy evenings so make sure you don't leave the parasols up or you may be fishing them out of the pool! The views from the villa are stunning and although the road down from the main road is very narrow and getting on the drive can be tricky at first, especially if you're not used to left hand drive, it gets easier! We used the next drive on the left which looks like it is being used to store building materials to turn around so we could get onto the villa drive forwards. We've had several trips out and Frigiliana is very picturesque and its worth a visit. If you get there early enough there is parking along the road, in an evening it gets really busy with on road parking and the car park being full. If you plan to eat in, Mercadona in Nerja should have everything you need, although there is a Lidl a little closer it didnt stock everything we wanted, just as it wouldnt back home. All in all a fantastic villa in a wonderful location.
