Borgo San Luigi

Our stay at Borgo San Luigi was very disappointing. Honestly, the experience felt closer to a 2-star hotel than a 4-star property. We have stayed in several 4-star hotels in Italy and abroad, and the standards here were clearly much lower. The check-in and check-out were quick and efficient, and the reception team was pleasant. Unfortunately, that was the only positive point. The rest of the experience was far below what you would expect from a 4-star hotel: - The room felt very old and outdated. - The shower was leaking, which flooded the entrance area of the room. - Overall, the room felt poorly maintained. - There was no complimentary water in the room, which is usually the bare minimum in a 4-star hotel. The bottles in the minibar were chargeable. - The TV only had about twenty local Italian channels, which is very limited for a hotel. We actually didn’t want to stay in the room and only used it to sleep before leaving quickly. The bed was comfortable, but that alone doesn’t justify a 4-star rating. The night before, we stayed at another 4-star hotel nearby with much higher standards. Unfortunately it was fully booked that night, otherwise we would have stayed there instead.

Stayed here with my family in December. Love this place, beautiful well appointed rooms in a secluded location. Beds are comfortable and the room was nice and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and we had dinner there once which was nice. Love the bar area with a real fireplace and there is also a pool table. We loved hanging out here after a busy day out, having drinks by the fireplace. This place would be nice in summer as there is a nice outdoor pool with lounging space around it.

The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and full of character, combining traditional Tuscan style with comfort. The gardens and pool area are absolutely stunning, perfect for relaxing and soaking in the serene landscape. The staff is exceptionally kind, professional and attentive, making you feel genuinely welcome from the first moment. Breakfast and dining were delightful, with high-quality local ingredients and flavors that truly represent Tuscany. Borgo San Luigi is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, a peaceful retreat or anyone looking to experience the true soul of Tuscany. I would return without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone seeking beauty, tranquility and authentic Italian hospitality.
