Heathside Guest House

The most wonderful place. Gudrun really took care of us crazy Americans. Were only going to stay 4 nights but ended up almost 2 weeks.

We booked the guesthouse for 3 nights. The journey by motorcycle was a bit strenuous due to the high temperatures, but Gudrun immediately welcomed us with a delicious beer on the house! In the evenings, we were looked after by her husband Hagen, who always made sure we lacked nothing! They also helped us with advice and support when planning our excursions! The highlight for us, besides the dinner, was the delicious and extensive breakfast! At least 5-6 types of sausage, cheese, several jams, and so on! The rolls (various varieties) were freshly baked, and whole-grain bread was also available! Sometimes there were boiled eggs, sometimes scrambled eggs – absolutely delicious! There was unlimited coffee, tea, and fruit juice! You can tell that these two take great pleasure in providing their guests with a wonderful stay! Thank you, Andrea and Michael, see you again soon!

We stayed here over Easter 2025 and were thrilled. The location at the foot of the Lausche mountain is impressive and a great starting point for hikes in the surrounding area. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. A generous breakfast is provided, and for guests, a delicious dinner is served at reasonable prices upon request. We had a wonderful holiday here and would love to come back.
