Gîte de la Léchère - Val Ferret

The most unfriendly staff imaginable. There are two women and a man servicing this rifugio. The man is outright insolent, the ladies have no people skills. In addition to dealing with these people be prepared to sleep with 18 other people in the same room, in adjacent beds where you have to crawl in and out like animals. Bathroom is a joke, four showers (two of them out of service) totally filthy. Avoid if you can. There is a town - Fouly at 25 minutes hike from this rifugio with plenty of hotels.

There are many positive things for this refugio. The male staff is very kind and helpful, the toilet is clean and the facilities are adequate. However, some staff did not treat us appropriately. She yelled at us to clean the room even before our checking out time.

We were here after a very long hike and had an amazing experience. We were welcomed by a very warm and friendly host and her family with a very well tasting cheese fondue. There is even a warm shower! The white beer is also very good and welcoming after a long hike. I would definitely recommend this!
