Baía da Luz

Lovely apartment hotel. Good location. Less than 10 minutes to the beach. The 2 bedroom apartments are very well appointed, very clean, and spacious. There is a safe and pool towels included. The pool is nice but can get windy, so coldc when out for smaller children. The pool bar is priced well. Would personally recommend an apartment not in the pool complex. I think they lack privacy and may be louder during the day. The other complexes are a one minute walk away and get pleasant. Luz is easily accessible, and the eateries generally off high standard. I preferred the Baptista Supermarket. It was priced about the same and felt nicer than the Spar.

It’s difficult to rate this place. The kitchen was great and it was spacious as we had the two bedroom loft. Thank goodness we had the extra bedroom for the two of us because the main bedroom had a terrible mattress as the springs could be felt. Bedding was worn out. Dogs barking and street noise echoed. The upper bedroom beds were better but you do have to access it up a ladder like set of stairs to a loft area. Nice to have a bathroom up there so we didn’t have to negotiate those steps at night. Reception was difficult to find at the corner since there are several buildings. Signs direct you but make no sense until you realize they only point you in a general direction!

We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment for 4 nights and instantly fell in love with this beautiful, beach resort-style place. The apartment has everything we needed (and more), including spacious rooms, balconies with a partial water view, a well-equipped kitchen, and good-sized bathrooms. The area is quiet and safe, with close proximity to beaches, cafes/restaurants, and shops. The staff members are also lovely :) All my family enjoyed our stay, and we would be delighted to return next time we find ourselves in the Lagos area.
