Auberge Gîte "Bon Abri"

Very basic refugio. We did have our own room and bathroom, but it wasn't the cleanest. Group vibe was good. There was a large group of teens from Denmark and the usual solo or coupled up hikers which made for good and fun dinner convos. They only accept cash which they made very clear from the get-go. Dinner was just potato and bread fondue so bring your own protein if it's important for you. One upside of this refugio was its close proximity to the trail. You walk five minutes and you're back on the TMB.

Loved this place, really nice vibe. I was in a 6 man dorm which was cosy but does the job. Food and was pretty good, basic soup with a huge tasty fondue + bread and potato, small yummy cake for pudding. Fresh beer on tap and lovely green outdoor space. Staff were very friendly. For what you’re signing up for it’s good quality I guess!

Had a nice time here. big open dining hall where they served fondue with potatoes. not my favorite (my acquired taste) but for those that enjoy that kind of meal, you'll love it. and there is plenty of food, that isnt an issue. Bathrooms are clean, hot water in showers. Room was small for three bunk beds but thats normal for TMB. Only real negative would be the check in of 4pm, premises is closed prior to that time (if you plan on arriving early, stay in champex and then arrive so you dont have to back track) Overall i had a good stay and would return.
